About the Fox Cities Exhibition Center

The long-awaiting grand opening of the $31.9 million Fox Cities Exhibition Center took place Thursday, Jan. 11th from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.

Officials from ten area municipalities broke ground on the project Sept. 29, 2016. Just over 15 months later, the 30,000 sq. ft. facility with its iconic spire and glass façade overlooking Jones Park is now welcoming exhibitions and tradeshows from across the Midwest.

The exhibition space can be divided into three 10,000 sq. ft. sections. It features a pre-function space and dedicated meeting space. The FCEC also has 17,000 sq. ft. of outdoor exhibition space that can be rented. The center is connected to the Red Lion Hotel Paper Valley, which offers an additional 40,000 sq. ft. of meeting, banquet and break-out space and 390 sleeping rooms.

The grand opening celebration featured a ribbon-cutting and self-guided tours of the facility for all Fox Cities residents. Mayor Hanna and Wisconsin Department of Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett spoke at the event.

The grand opening was sponsored by the City of Appleton, Miron Construction, Fentress Architects, Zimmerman Architectural Studios, Red Shoes PR, Carew Concrete, Omni Glass & Paint, EGI Mechanical, Suburban Electrical Engineers/Contractors and the Red Lion Hotel Paper Valley (formerly Radisson Paper Valley Hotel).
